Not informed enough to be a critic, just a grateful observer and no-talent fanboy.

Sometimes I go to a show and it’s just alright. But does it really matter? What’s not good about being out on a school night with your best buddy watching a band that may go absolutely nowhere? That’s the beauty of it, hit and miss, but that doesn’t define the experience. Live music is about the moment and Yungblud captured that moment in an epic way. Small club, smallish crowd, but incredible energy. Every note was captivating, a cross between old Clash, ska and hip hop with a heavy, heavy dose of youthful angst. All ages show; Pierre and I nearly tripled the average attendee.  Loved it, go see him. Some of the music kids listen to today has such a socially conscious edge, and sometimes the sheer brutality of the message is almost overwhelming. I’m convinced our youth are ready to take us to a better place.

Speaking of youth, Arrested Youth opened. While the polish lacked, I still felt like I was sixteen. They were almost bad but also good, like Twenty One Pilots covering Imperial Teen and Pink Floyd.  Not sure how I arrived at that, don’t take my word for it. They even rhymed Instagramily.

There’s an app inside my phone that tells me where to go.

if it were to die I don’t think I could get home.
